I too did not know the glory of brussels sprouts until I was a grownup. (To be honest, I had been a grownup for some time.) We were served them once when I was a child and my father looked down at his plate and said "I am not eating these." So of course me and my brother and sister refused too. Something so horrible that even an adult would not eat it? Nevair! Years later I was forced to eat some out of politeness and realized what I had been missing.
